events: markdown to allow creating custom RSVP button in body of post

Feature

markdown to allow creating custom RSVP button in body of post

Description

I am using events RSVP to organize a community call, and have gotten reports that people don’t know how to RSVP even though I explain it directly in the message. The “JOINING” button seems easy to oversee. A suggestion I was given was to provide a button or link directly in the text that, when selected, adds the user to the attendee list. Maybe this could be provided with markdown?

Use Case

We are trying to use discourse to organize events in our community. We’d like people to RSVP and then use that registrant list to follow up with people to send meeting reminders, etc. It has been challenging to get them to actually click the JOINING button to RSVP.

Meanwhile, we follow common practices to put a call to action button directly in mailings - I will upload a screenshot with an example (unrelated, just showed up in my email today). A button saying “CLICK HERE TO RSVP” would likely increase the chances of people actually following through to RSVP.

Budget

how about a maybe option?
